Womens aid dundalk options

Housing:

  • Contact your local authority to apply to be placed on the housing list
  • If you are on the housing list may be eligible for HAP (Housing Assistance Payment)
  • Private renting
  • Domestic violence rent supplement scheme ( talk to your local Domestic Violence service)

Financial:

  • Social welfare payments include:- Jobseekers Allowance, Child Benefit etc.
  • Part-time or Full-time employment
  • Contact MABS for assistance with budgeting

Legal:

  • Contact the Gardaí to report any incidences
  • Contact Victim Support if you have been a victim of a crime
  • Attend the Women’s Aid Dundalk court clinic to seek information and support on Domestic Violence Court Orders
  • Court orders include – Safety Orders & Barring Orders *Link to legal page*
  • You may be eligible for Legal Aid if you require a solicitor

Health:

  • Contact your GP or local A&E for assistance with injuries and to create a record of injuries inflicted by the abusive person
  • Attend a Sexual Assault Treatment Unit (SATU) if you have been sexually assaulted. Closest to Dundalk – Rotunda Hospital Campus phone 01 817 1736 weekdays from 8am to 5pm or phone 01 817 1700 after 5pm and weekends, ask for SATU. You can contact them yourself or via the Gardaí. SATU can take forensic samples up to 7 days after a rape or sexual assault

  • Contact your GP for referral to Mental Health Services, both public and private
